We’ve all heard about how important exercise is and how sitting is the new smoking. Most of us step out our doors to go for a run or a hike or go to the gym for our workouts. What about those for whom exercise is not so easy?
We announced at the beginning of September that we were partnering with Team Red, White & Blue for their fourth annual running of the Old Glory Relay (OGR) by raising funds via our Amerithon Challenge virtual event.
When we created the Amerithon Challenge we set out to make it an exciting adventure where you can virtually exercise your way across the United States. We also set out to make sure each mile had the potential to mean something more. In our initial launch of the challenge, we partnered with Team Red, White & Blue, an organization whose stated mission is to “enrich the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity." The connection couldn’t have been more perfect. Little did we know we would have the opportunity to make that connection even stronger this year.
Sometimes external factors are what drive us to make a change. For Rebekah, learning that a former coworker needed a kidney transplant led her on a path that changed her life for the better and is helping her give the ultimate gift — life!
Read Rebekah’s transformation story and how she is going to be a living donor.
For our re-launch of the Amerithon Challenge, our chosen charitywear blue: run to rememberfounder Lisa Hallett is sharing the stories of a few of their program recipients. This week meet Teresa Maggart in Lisa's words.
